Sophie-cakes is a family owned and operated allergen-free bakery that is dedicated to offering delicious treats without the worry of allergens to those who might otherwise feel deprived.

With 12 million Americans struggling with food allergies, chances are that you, or someone you love, are affected by dietary restrictions.  Living with a food allergy is a challenge every day.  In a world where most social events revolve around food, it has become a necessity to offer allergen-free alternatives to the foods we all enjoy.

Sophie-cakes was inspired by my little girl, Sophie.  When Sophie was 6 months old, she took her first, and last sips of a milk-based product.  In a matter of moments, she became lethargic, unresponsive, and then physically ill.  The memory of that night will live in my heart and mind forever.  In the months that followed , we learned that Sophie had a severe allergy to dairy as well as eggs.  We began learning about dairy and egg substitutions in cooking, as well as how many of the foods that we eat daily contain these ingredients.

As Sophie's 1st birthday approached, I was so sad to think that my little girl would not be able to eat her own birthday cake.  Determined that she not be deprived, Sophie's Grammy worked day and night to come up with just the right recipe that had all the taste of an everyday birthday cake with none of the allergens.  After many trials and taste-tests, the "Sophie-cakes" cake was born.

At sophie-cakes we are proud to offer delicious cakes and cupcakes that are free from allergens without compromising taste.  Life is sweet.....Enjoy!
